These are Level 1 Gymnastic Skills
These are the basics. You will always need your basics, because they are your foundation for higher skills!
Lesson 1: Forward Roll Tuck
This is a very easy skill to learn. To do a forward roll tuck, stand up straight with your arms in the before-trick pose, if you do not know this beginning position, Google Picture Gymnastic Begin pose. Bend down and roll yourself over (make sure your knees are tucked tightly to your chest!) Voila! Practice this intill you are outstanding at this, and you go perfectly straight! Make sure when you are done each time, you stand and give the begin pose.
Lesson 2: Backward Roll Tuck
The Backward Roll Tuck is very slightly like the Forward one. To do begin the move, sit down with your knees tucked into your chest with the begin pose (only your arms) on. Slowly pull your hands down so your arm almost completely touch the ground. Roll back, allowing your arms to fully touch as you roll backwards. Make sure your knees are tucked tight THE WHOLE TIME. Stand and do the begin pose. Do this over and over in'till you do it almost perfectly!
Lesson 3: Cartwheel
This skill may take slightly longer then the first two. To complete this skill, stand straight in your begin position. Put your hands down straight in front of you and kick over. You legs should be apart and straight. Land in the begin position. Practice this in'till it is PERFECT!!!! DO NOT MOVE ON TO THE NEXT SKILL IN'TILL YOU COMPLETE! (Although you shouldn't be anyways!)
Lesson 4: Handstands
This may take even longer (but maybe not). This can be a scary unit for some people. If you are scared i'm going to first tell you a trick to stop being scared, i'm going to first tell you a way to stop being scared in the air. To stop being scared put your arms down in front of you and pull yourself over on your hands while tucking in your knees (have a cushy landing place like making a pallete). Now, to complete a handstand you must have good strength, that's why I tell you to do pushups or you may lose your strength. First, get in front of a wall. Do the begin pose and slowly bend your arms straight in front of you and kick up. Do this over and over again in'till you can hover NEXT to the wall. Then, practice doing it regurally with no wall. OR......... You can do it a way for if you're scared. First make a BIG, CUSHY, COMFY place to land on. First do the begin pose and kink off your feet HARD. Make your legs straight and fall over into your cushy place. Do this and try to kick less harder each time and try to stay in the handstand and come down, not flip over.
Lesson 5: Candle Stick
This is a very easy move.Lie down straight on your back. Dig your harms hard into the ground. Lift yourself up onto your shoulders, keeping your arms planted on the ground. Point your toes and make sure your legs are together. Act as if they were glued. Then, pull your bottom to the ground and tuck your legs in in'till your feet touch the ground. You are done!
Lesson 6: Bridge LAST LESSON!!! :)
Lie on your back with your knees up, shoulder width apart. Your arms should be bent and your hands should be tilted all the way back on the ground. Push up! Voila!
